Against all odds, I knew I would be a mother

I knew it would happen

To feel the heartbeat for the first time

To shop for the first little outfit

To furnish the room

To plan for the future

To feel a life growing inside of me

Against all odds, I knew I would be a mother

To yearn for something so long

To try for so many years

To know in my heart and soul

To not give up

To keep going

To feel complete

To feel whole

Against all odds I knew I would be a mother

To care for another human being

To teach him or her to love and laugh

What a blessing

My parents would be so happy

A grandchild

Against all odds, I knew I would be a mother

As a little girl I knew I would be a mommy

I planned out names

I planned futures

I planned and planned

I cried

I screamed

I fought

I felt so alone

I prayed

I bargained

I knew it in my soul that it would happen

Against all odds, I knew I would be a mother

Years passed

Praying

Crying

Trying and trying

IUI, IVF, donor, surrogate, adoption

My child, our children

And I just knew

Against all odds, I knew I would be a mother

To my fellow infertility warriors, I know that our children, no matter how they come to us, will look at their parents and know, that they are cherished and loved and how we worked so hard to bring them into this life.

Sarah Clark empowers couples to discover how lifestyle and diet can dramatically impact their chances of conceiving.  She was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure at 28 and had both her kids with donor eggs.  Not until years later did she discover that the root cause of her infertility was a food intolerance.  Ready to gaze into your baby’s eyes….but struggling.  Download 10 step Checklist here
