Prenatal Supplement by Fab Fertile Key Ingredients
- Vitamin B12 - Our B12 is in the forms of methylcobalamin not cyanocobalamin. This is extremely important to make note of when searching for your perfect prenatal. The methylated form of B12 is the most bioavailable form of this nutrient, which is extremely important considering 50% of the population has a genetic mutation making them unable to convert cyanocobalamin into methylcobalamin making this nutrient not as useful.
- Folate -Folate is another nutrient that must be used in the methyl form, which is the most natural form. Folic acid is what is found in many prenatals; however, this is the artificial version of folate, which can cause deficiencies without the proper genetic makeup to convert folic acid into the most bioavailable form.
- Choline - The bare minimum amount of choline during pregnancy is 450 mg per day; however, research suggests your genetics may require you to need more choline than this, especially if your genetically predetermined to have increased choline needs due to MTHFR genes.
- Iodine - This essential trace mineral is necessary for protection against miscarriage, still births, and birth defects by protecting thyroid hormone production and stability.
- Vitamin A - Vitamin A should be closely monitored during pregnancy considering high doses can increase birth rate defects; however, we have added vitamin A in the most absorbable form in a small dosage as this vitamin is still necessary for organ development for babies.
Our Prenatal specifically does not include iron as this metal is contraindicated during pregnancy and may cause health conditions. We believe iron needs are important and can be met naturally in the diet alone. For specific iron needs, we recommend working with one of our practitioners on monitoring your iron levels via lab work and supplementing under supervision if needed.
Our supplements are free of gluten and GMOs and lab tested.
