      • AMH is not a marker of egg quality.
      • Egg health refers to the quality and quantity
      • When we’re talking about egg quality, we want to know if the egg is chromosomally normal


      7:45 MITOCHONDRIAL HEALTH

      • Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, and eggs carry a high proportion of mitochondria
      • If we concentrate on mitochondrial health, we can help support egg quality by proxy.
      • Mitochondria are very susceptible to the aging process.


      9:32 TESTING FOR EGG QUALITY

      • You can’t directly test egg quality.
      • If you have had rounds of IVF that have not worked, early miscarriages, or infertility generally, then we want to focus on egg quality


      10:54 FOLLICLE-STIMULATING HORMONE (FSH)

      • FSH signals that it's time to allow an egg to mature and be released in the ovulatory cycle
      • If egg quality is compromised, follicles can become resistant to FSH


      13:02 ESTRADIOL (E2)

      • Estradiol is the form of estrogen that’s produced primarily in the ovaries
      • In the first few days of the menstrual cycle, we're looking for E2 under 50 pg/mL
      • When estradiol rises too quickly, this can indicate that the ovaries are responding a bit prematurely, and the egg quality could be compromised for that cycle


      14:55 ANTI-MÜLLERIAN HORMONE (AMH)

      • If your AMH is low, we have to look at your whole body and see what's being missed.
      • Some people in the fertility industry use AMH as a scare tactic to rush people into treatment more quickly
      • AMH is not necessarily the most accurate predictor of the amount of eggs you have left.
      • Misconceptions about AMH and antral follicle count
